DAY 1 – Depart UK

Depart the UK on your chosen scheduled flight to Phoenix. Upon arrival, transfer independently to your hotel.

DAY 2 – Scottsdale

Today is free for rest and relaxation. Enjoy the facilities of your hotel or visit Old Town Scottsdale with its quaint shops, art galleries and restaurants. This evening you’ll meet your tour director and fellow travellers at the welcome reception.

DAY 3 – Grand Canyon

Today you head north through stunning scenery to the spectacular red rock region of Sedona. Journey on through Oak Creek Canyon to the Grand Canyon National Park. Take a walk along the rim for breathtaking views as the sun sets on the canyon walls. This evening you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner whilst gazing out over the magnificent Grand Canyon.

DAY 4 – Lake Powell

Wake early to see the sun rise over the Grand Canyon then hop on the park shuttle, stopping at several look-out points. Then it’s time to leave this natural wonder behind as you head for Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell. Take a leisurely cruise on the lake where you’ll see the amazing red sandstone walls of the canyon.

DAY 5 – Lake Powell

Today you could relax and enjoy the resort’s facilities or, if you’re feeling more adventurous, take an optional float trip down the Colorado River or the complimentary excursion to Monument Valley Tribal Park for a guided tour.

DAY 6 – Bryce Canyon

Leaving Lake Powell behind you head for Bryce Canyon National Park in southern Utah. Here you will see the diversity of naturally carved amphitheatres, balanced rocks, gravity-defying bridges and rock spires. This evening is spent in Bryce Canyon. (Some departures of this itinerary will continue on to Zion National Park for the overnight accommodation).

DAY 7 – Las Vegas

From Bryce it’s on to Zion. Join a private Zion Canyon Shuttle tour with live commentary and enjoy the scenic highlights of the park. Then it’s time to head for the bright lights of the desert resort of Las Vegas. This evening why not take in a show or wander along The Strip.

DAY 8 – Salt Lake City

Today’s journey takes you to Salt Lake City, host city of the 2002 Winter Olympics. Make sure you visit Capitol Building for its stunning beauty and architecture, view the magnificent Wasatch and Oquirrh Mountains and of the course the Great Salt Lake!

DAY 9 – Jackson

After breakfast you will see more of the city on a guided tour before you continue north into the state of Wyoming, crossing the historic Oregon Trail and climbing over the Teton Mountains, as you journey on to the town of Jackson. Dinner tonight is st a choice of excellent Jackson restaurants.

DAY 10 – Yellowstone

Today is a fun packed day of exploration. First and foremost is the Grand Teton National Park, stopping off to enjoy stunning views of Jenny Lake! Then your journey takes you on to Yellowstone National Park. The world’s first national park, founded in 1872, it is well known for its geothermal activity and spectacular landscapes.

DAY 11 – Yellowstone

Time this morning to explore and experience this amazing and beautiful park. You’ll be able to walk amongst erupting geysers and see Old Faithful shooting over 120ft into the air. Animals of all kinds are here too.

DAY 12 – Billings

Today you will travel down the Shoshone Canyon and through the Absaroka Rocky Mountains to Cody. Visit the Buffalo Bill Historical Centre, built in his honour before travelling on to Billings.

DAY 13 – Custer State Park

After breakfast you’ll visit Custer’s Last Stand at the Battle of the Little Bighorn and then continue through the Black Hills of South Dakota to Deadwood, a town made famous during the gold rush in the 1870s. Today’s final stop is at Custer State Park.

DAY 14 – Black Hills

After breakfast it’s a visit to the Crazy Horse Memorial, Mount Rushmore, quite possibly one of America’s most famous landmarks!

DAY 15 – Cheyenne

Today you’ll travel across high plains back into Wyoming. Enjoy a stop at Fort Laramie, the site of one of the great frontier outposts before you arrive in Cheyenne. We have included a city tour of this truly beautiful town.

DAY 16 – Denver

After breakfast it’s onwards to Denver. Travel through the Rocky Mountain National Park and pass over Trail Ridge Road to the very beginning of the Colorado River. Finally there is a farewell dinner at your hotel.

DAY 17 – Return to UK

Today your tour comes to an end. A complimentary transfer is included to take you back to Denver Airport for your flight back to the UK.
